Behind the Blog
There’s nothing special that I can really put about myself here that no one has ever read before. Like most people, I began blogging years ago. Detailed ‘about’ pages are mandatory these days, so I should probably start thinking of something. We’ll begin with the basics.
I’m 21 years old, and I live with my husband and son in the Midwestern United States – Kentucky, to be exact. I work in a restaurant while my husband works at a rent-to-own company. Our son Dylan is nearly 6 years old, and if you haven’t done the math already in your head, I was 16 when he was born. I’m a teen mom all grown up and proud to be that way. I’ll go ahead and bust the stereotype for you: We’re not on welfare, or in a bitter relationship, or popping out kids left and right, or being supported by family members. I’m proud to say that we’ve paved our own way.
Before all of this though, I was a regular kid with a regular childhood. I was raised by two great parents in a little house, played basketball, softball, and was on the high school dance team. I dropped out of high school my sophomore year due to my pregnancy, got a grip on my life as it was at the time, then returned later and earned my G.E.D in 2005. I would’ve been in the class of ‘06 had I graduated.
As far as personality goes, I’m really sweet-natured, kind, and laid-back. And though I’m nice, I have the tendency to be shy and quiet around those whom I don’t know very well. My kindness should never be mistaken for weakness.
I love to knit. I’ve been doing it now for a little over a year, just deciding one day to pick up the little starter kit with an instructional book and give it a try. My favorite projects I’ve ever done so far are a precious little preemie hat and pair of booties for The Preemie Project, which is a “non-profit organization that comforts premature and critically ill infants and their families at The University of Iowa Children’s Hospital by giving gifts of hats, booties and blankets that have been handcrafted…” (quoting their site directly). I look forward to doing more charity knitting.
I also draw sporadically, as detailed on the artwork page. I’m not a professional by any stretch of the imagination, but I do enjoy it when I can find the time.
And on top of those things I also enjoy web design, blogging, photography, and reading!
About The Website
Misskris.nu was purchased in June 2009 with the sole purpose of being my personal blog and effective time killer. It’s registered with GoDaddy and hosted by E-Starr. Back in 2006, I purchased Kristiegirl.org which was my personal blog for quite some time until I eventually grew tired of it.
On top of being a blog, this website has other purposes as well. I frequently share photos, drawings, resources, and all sorts of other things too. I love hearing from my readers and getting to know them.

I'm a blogging momma from the Midwest. I'm also an obsessive knitter, aspiring artist, amateur photographer, and occasional freelance writer. How do I manage to fit all of that into my life? Plenty of caffeine and not enough sleep. I am sensitive, flawed, and imperfect in every sense of the word. But I feel I have a lot to offer the world, even if I make a few mistakes along the way. Thanks for stopping by.
