I’ve learned some things

09/20/09 · Filed in Daily Grind

Things I’ve learned this past week:

  • Mother Nature loves to bring her monthly gift when the husband and I have a lot of free alone time on our hands.
  • I really dislike (I hesitate to say HATE) my job, but once my weekend starts I’m happy to have it.
  • Scrabble is an incredibly fun and addictive game. We played it old school on the kitchen table at my mother-in-law’s house, and now I’m playing it on the desktop. Oh yeah, the hub is playing it on the laptop too.
  • Speaking of my mother-in-law, she makes the most amazing coffee ever. It’s Folger’s french vanilla flavor, but she makes it with just the right amount of sugar and creamer. I NEVER make my coffee at home taste as good.
  • Chicken wings are delicious in a variety of flavors. My taste buds have officially been tantalized.
  • Men are incapable of loading and running the dishwasher, even though it’s blatantly obvious that there are NO CLEAN PLATES OR BOWLS to eat from. He says, that’s what paper towels are for, amirite? NO. NO THEY AREN’T.
  • Due to the incessant amount of country music being forcefully blasted into my head from the radio at work, I’m kinda beginning to like some of it. I said SOME of it. Sugarland? You are a whiny, nasally tone-deaf bitch. There, I said it. Joe Nichols? You are alright.
  • I suddenly and without warning fall dead asleep on the couch on those days when I get up really early and try to stay up really late. Last night’s computer Scrabble game with the hubz was rudely interrupted right after I shouted, “Blitz! OMG you have all the letters to spell blitz, that’s awesome! Triple letter score on the Z!”…snore snore snore.

I’ve had a lot of fun this week!

    Oh my goodness. *hugs*
I must admit I giggled a lot while reading this, and sometimes at parts where I shouldn’t… like the third from the bottom. :P

I love reading your blog, as it’s always so humorous! I agree on a lot of those counts. Mother Nature decided to bless me on the week I have TONS of schoolwork to get done, which makes me just want to forget it and curl up in the fetal position. But I have to disagree on Sugarland…I love them!
