I like big fancy things, just not at the expensive of needs or stuff that adds more value to my life in the long run. Mike and I were talking about this recently. We’d rather get inexpensive, simple, but nice rings and have more money to travel and do stuff than get big expensive ones and have to stay at home staring at them all day. I also think a big ring makes you a target in some ways to pickpockets, muggers, and kidnappers, especially when traveling in less safe areas.
